Top 3 summer smoothies

Here in the UK, we are in the middle of summer

And what a summer it is!

The sun is beating down across the UK,

Heatwaves are continually being reported

And records are being broken.


With temperatures soaring, what more do we want than a cool, refreshing and tasty drink!

No, we’re not talking cider, lager or a glass of pimm’s!

But how about trying one of our favourite smoothies?

They’re quick and easy to make,

Can be varied to suit your taste

And are a lovely healthy alternative to plain old water.


With all three of these smoothies,

You can make them even more refreshing by adding a few cubes of ice.


If you’re also looking to increase your protein intake,

Why not add a scoop of protein powder?

We find vanilla, or unflavoured varieties both work well.


All that you should need to make these smoothies,

And a blender to form your creation.



The Green One

Our particular favourite here at Lazy Bones Fitness HQ,

This tasty number gives us the energy boost needed in this warm and humid weather.


  • 1 Avocado
  • 1 Green Apple (peeled & chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Parsley
  • 2 cups Baby Spinach
  • 1 cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 squeezed Lemon



The Red One

An excellent source of antioxidants, The Red One is great first thing in the morning.


  • 2 handfuls Frozen Berry Mix
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/4 cup Almond Milk
  • 1 squeezed Orange
  • 1 tbsp Avocado



The Yellow One

The simplest on the menu,

We find this has a refreshing burst of flavour, particularly when served with lots of ice!

We often give the tastebuds some variety by using either orange or pineapple juice.

The choice is yours.


  • 1 cup Frozen Pineapple Chunks
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Mango Chunks
  • 1/2 cup Orange or Pineapple Juice
